Dear Students and Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to Art / Photography! All information for this course can be found either on this page or in the tabs on the upper corner. One of my goals for all of you, parents/guardians included, is to offer regular support and communication so that everyone is full prepared to succeed in my class. Since Google Classroom does not allow access for parents and guardians, this website will be updated regularly for everyone to stay informed. Students will be able to access Google Classroom, Remind, and any other links necessary for the lessons.

About me
I am practicing interdisciplinary teaching artist with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Photography from the University of Tulsa. I achieved a Cum Laude Bachelor of Arts in Photography with a secondary emphasis in Ceramics at the University of Arkansas. I also hold minors in Psychology and Art History. I taught Visual Art and Photography in the Oklahoma public school system for seven years, and was recognized as the Oklahoma State Art Educator in 2016. From 2019-2020, I was a fellow with the Albert Schweitzer Fellowship. Through this fellowship, I facilitated interdisciplinary after-school activities for junior high and high school gardening club students in order to increase health and well-being for participants. I volunteer with many regional and national arts organizations, such as the Society for Photographic Education. My personal work often questions the reality of photography as a representation of truth. On a broader scale, I question reality and its many truths on a daily basis. I look to art as a means of both examining and celebrating this quandary. Recent awards include a 2020 Student Award of Excellence from the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition and participation in the 2023 Chico Review.
