Sports Day
On Tuesday 4th July, despite the weather trying to put us off, we held our annual Primary Academy Sports Day! With the building work meaning that this was unable to be held on the Primary field, we were fortunate enough to be able to have access to the secondary field.
It was not only the field that the secondary academy provided, with support being given by Mr Paton, the PE department and the fabulous sports leaders who ensured that the day ran smoothly.
All students who took part showed incredible sportspersonship, cheering on their team, congratulating their opponents and living Jaime Escalante's quote of, "Life is not about how many times you fall down, it's about how many times you get back up."
As a principal, I could not have been prouder of our absolutely amazing students and from the smiles on your faces I know you felt exactly the same!
Forest School
As you will hopefully have seen in my previous bulletins, we are very fortunate to have had Mrs Glass and Mrs Harwood run our Forest School provision for year R over the course of this year. With our purpose built area and bespoke resources, we have seen a huge impact for our year R students.
Next year we will be continuing to offer Forest School to our new two-form year R cohort as well as year one children. Additionally, we will be trialing a Key Stage 2 intervention for Forest School, where children will be carefully selected by class teachers and Mr Paterson as SENCo.
This means that Mrs Glass will not be designated to a particular class in order to provide her the time to plan, prepare and deliver these sessions and broaden this excellent offer to impact on more pupils across the school!
