Bring your sort to our session and be ready to engage in our activity.
After our session, you may play with a partner:
Lay out all the picture cards facing up for you to use.
Stack all the word cards for your partner to use.
Have your partner flash a word card and try to point to the picture card that matches it. After you have attempted it, check the back to see if you got a match!
Listen to the story "Susi Amasa" again and think about the following:
What time of the day do you think it is? How can you tell?
In whose house have the characters gathered?
What does the letter y stand for on the last page?
LET'S BUILD OUR READING STAMINA!
GOAL: To read for 15 minutes without getting too tired or giving up!
Track the amount of time that you read without being distracted. Remember readers with a good stamina do the following:
Read the whole time.
Stay in their comfy spot.
Enjoy their book.
Choose a book to read from home or visit Epic! and browse through their book collection. We recommend you start looking for Spanish books in the "Read to Me" section as well as picture books you can start exploring on your own.

Activity for Submission:
Today you will use the brainstorming sheet you created last Friday, and add the following sentence stem to each page to describe each of your drawings:
(verb) (person/family member).
Please refer to the sample on the right. Focus on describing your second drawing today. You may download the vocabulary handout with the verbs list again and glue in on the last page of your phonics notebook for vocabulary reference. You may also glue the family handout on the back of the phonics notebook to use it when writing about a person in your family.
We now know that matter is everything that can be measured and takes up space. Today we will find matter and classify it by its size. Use objects from around the house to complete this activity.
Activity for Submission:
Check today's activity in Seesaw.
Activity for Submission:
Choose a large object to measure in the house. Consider the 3 important rules.
You will use steps as your unit to determine how long the object is.
Before measuring, predict how many steps long you think the object is. Then, check your prediction by measuring the object. You may repeat the process with up to 3 large objects.
