About us
Established in 1997, Huagen Chinese School currently has more than a hundred students along with many faculty and staff, most of which are parents or college student volunteers.
Research shows that children of young age can master a second language much easier than adults, and children who learn a second language develop stronger problem solving and analytical skills. Thus the school aims to teach children the Chinese language (Mandarin) so that they can learn to listen, speak, read, and write in Chinese. The ultimate goal is to give children a lifetime asset of learning skills.
The classes are divided into multiple levels to fit students of different language proficiency. Besides Chinese, the school offers other fun classes such as music, arts, calligraphy, dancing, chess, Tai Chi, soccer, etc. Students will go to class every Saturday afternoon at Oak Hall School.
