This summer is a huge one for new movies. Highly anticipated titles such as “Blue Beetle”, “Barbie”, “Haunted Mansion”, “Insidious: The Red Door”, “Elemental”, and “Oppenheimer” are scheduled for summer release. However, the most talked about films are “Blue Beetle”, “Barbie”, “Insidious: The Red Door”, and “Oppenheimer”.
“Blue Beetle” is the latest film in the DC universe and follows a young man named Jamie Reyes who finds himself forming a connection with a biotechnology alien. This alien chooses Jamie to connect with, which causes Reyes to gain a supersuit and powers allow Reyes to become the Blue Beetle. The trailer sets this movie up to be great. It looks very interesting and something that would be fun for a family of superhero fans to see together.
“Barbie '' follows Margot Robbie as a barbie doll who lives in Barbieland. She finds herself being expelled from Barbieland for not being as perfect as the other Barbies. She then leaves and enters the real world, looking for something not as perfect. This movie looks like it is going to be a fun movie that is geared towards a female audience, however everyone can enjoy this movie.
“Insidious: The Red Door” is the story of Josh Lambert as he drops his son Dalton off at college. However, Dalton soon discovers that the demons and ghouls of his past start to haunt him and his father again. This movie is geared towards older horror fans. It’s playing into the idea of the past coming back to haunt some iconic horror characters from the Insidious franchise.
“Oppenheimer” is a telling of the story about the physicist Robert J Oppenheimer as he works on the Manhattan project. His work on the Manhattan project led to the creation of the atomic bomb. This latest movie from director Christopher Nolan would be good for anyone who is a fan of history, but also a fan of action.
Personally, I can’t wait to see the “Barbie” movie. As a young woman, I played with Barbies as a child, and the idea of a movie based on my old toys excited me. Before the trailer came out, I was weary of what I was going to see. However, after watching the trailer I was not disappointed. I can’t wait to see how the rest of this fun movie turns out.
