The annual Super Bowl this year was played by The Philadelphia Eagles and The Kansas City Chiefs. However, many viewers tuned in to watch Rihanna’s long-awaited halftime performance. She had gone seven years without performing solo until this moment. Her performance alone gained 118 million viewers, which was five million more than the average amount of viewers for the entire game. After all these years of not performing, she still remains one of the most popular female artists in today's music scene.
Rihanna began her set with a classic, “BBHMM.” She then followed with popular fan favorites such as “Umbrella”, "Work”, “Only Girl”, “Diamonds”, and seven more. Personally, her “Pour It Up” performance was my favorite. The music with the choreography had me and millions of others dancing ridiculously. I also loved how she closed her set with “Diamonds”. It made the performance feel so nostalgic and fun, even if you weren’t there in person. Whilst RiRi gave us vocals, her dancers gave us cho - re - og - ra - phy! They were all twinning with white baggy sweat suits with flashy glasses to pop. Besides their flashy outfits, their dance moves were on fire! They gave viewers moves that were funny, cool, and passionate. You can really tell this is their craft, and that they were not letting down RiRi or her fans!
As if Rihanna performing wasn’t crazy enough, she brought along a special surprise with her… A baby! The new mom now has another baby on the way to compliment her gorgeous family. Fans went crazy on social media apps, questioning what they were seeing. However, it was confirmed a week later by Rihanna’s agent that she is indeed pregnant! Congratulations to her! I am sure I can speak for her fans in hoping that we see her on stage again soon!
