The SHS Junior Prom took place on March 3rd at the Trenton Country Club, from 6:30 to 10:30. There were about 260 people in attendance, all of whom were dressed up for the formal event. Dinner consisted of penne or orzo pasta, chicken parm, filet mignon, and salad. After dinner, people were able to roam freely and took to the dance floor. Even though it was raining outside, that didn’t dampen the spirits of those in attendance at the beautiful venue. Many people took advantage of the photo booth. The DJ played a wide variety of music that left many leaving with sore feet. It was so nice to finally experience a formal dance, since the junior class never had an eighth grade social due to COVID.
Later in the evening, the prom court members were called onto the dance floor. The court consisted of Prince nominees Jake Berish, Connor Phox, Arush Shah, Steven Taracena, and Mason Zsenak; and Princess nominees Mahi Aneja, Nicole Kirn, Riley Mikolaczak, Alma Moncada, and Sofia Salcedo. Steven Taracena was named Prom Prince, and Sofie Salcedo was crowned Prom Princess, causing an eruption from the crowd. Even though the weather was not spectacular, the prom certainly was. Many thanks go out to the class officers, advisors and staff in attendance, for making this event so special for the Class of 2024!
