Peter Bochiaro
Hi, my name is Peter Bochiaro and I’m a freshman in Steinert High School. As a freshmen, one of, if not the most interesting thing that comes with it is Peer Leadership. If you are unaware Peer Leadership takes place every Freshman Health Class on Fridays in your health class. Peer leadership is taught through students all in the Upper Class (Junior and Seniors.) These students demonstrate leadership not just to lowerclassmen but even people in their grade and above.
As someone who has been through more than a month of Peer Leadership I can say so far it has been a positive experience for me. Something I like a lot about Peer Leadership is that it gives me a way to communicate with people who have been at Steinert for multiple years and take advice from them. Also, to me it gives a mental break from listening in classes and allows me to express myself better.
If I were to give Peer Leadership a critique I would say that the class could get a bit chaotic at times, which makes me very exhausted. Overall, Peer Leadership is a great way to help Freshmen like me to get used to Steinert and is something that you should get involved in and take advantage of.
