Senior Jack Lambert is a defensive end and offensive tackle on Steinert’s Varsity Football Team. He has been a part of the Steinert football program for 4 years, and has been on varsity for 3. He is very honored to have been voted as a captain for his senior year at Steinert, and said it is one of his biggest accomplishments as a football player, along with being selected for West Jersey Football League’s first team offense last year.
Jack has been playing football since he was 6 years old. His favorite NFL team is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Speaking of the Steelers, Jack’s has chosen his number as #58 since he started playing football because Jack Lambert, a former Steelers player, wore #58. When asked what he is going to miss most about Steinert Football, Jack said, “The camaraderie between teammates as well as the relationships and strong bonds I have formed while being in the Steinert football program”. He believes the football team has a great work ethic, and said they “work together remarkably”. As for his own work ethic he doesn’t let anything get in his way physically or mentally, football always comes first.
Football is a very fast-paced sport in every way,so it’s important to not let weaknesses get in the way of your performance. Lambert said the biggest weakness he has encountered as a football player is the “outside noise”. However, as a team the players overcome it and strive to be the best they can be. They don’t listen to what everyone else might be saying about them.
Jack is a big team player and would “play anywhere” and do “anything the coaches ask of him”. He is very thankful for all of his coaches and teammates for helping him succeed and be the best player he can be these past four years.
