My "Failure Philosophy"

"If you've never failed you've never tried anything new."

TO THE PARENTS OF MY STUDENTS

When we think of success, and successful people, the thought of failure NEVER enters the discussion. However, successful people have something in common - they have ALL FAILED at some time in their lives - often NUMEROUS times. They also have faced their failures with PERSISTENCE, PERSEVERANCE, and have used their "mistakes" to learn from, grow, and improve upon.

This is my basic philosophy that I wish to share with you and your child. In our classroom community, "failures and mistakes" will be looked at with a different approach. They will not be viewed as something negative - instead they will be wonderful opportunities to LEARN and GROW from. This positive and proactive thought process will be something that our classroom community strives for the entire school year.

As your child enters Haviland Middle School they will begin a fantastic journey of self discovery and learning. I'm SO EXCITED to be sharing a part of this amazing time in their lives! I look forward to working with you as we watch your child learn and grow as a result of their "failures." The attached video is a great way to sum up my philosophy.
