FoFor years Sewage has been seeping into Puakos bayfront from septic tanks only hundreds of feet from the coast. This contamination has been putting pressure on the reef and has already reduced coral coverage to 60% of what it once was. The contaminants pose threats to humans as well and residents have seen themselves getting sick after swimming in the bay. It is not too late for us to help Puakos reefs and we must work inoder to fix this issue.
