For the first time in Howest history, during two weeks, we are welcoming 29 Philippine guests from four different universities in our campuses.
Last year, within the Global Minds project of VLIR UOS, 24 students from Howest and VIVES went for two weeks to the Philippines to work with 24 Philippine students on climate change, sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship in the South Intensive Program.
Local agricultural cooperatives gave challenges to the students, local problems that they encounter by climate change.
The students co-created innovative solutions on how they could mitigate the effects of climate change by sustainable agriculture and good entrepreneurship.

This year, the Province of West -Flanders made it possible that the roles are turned and the Philippines can come to West-Flanders to create innovative solutions on challenges given by West-Flemish agricultural organizations. Inagro, 100% West-Vlaams and De Lochting are very enthusiastic to guide these students in this project. 17 students of Howest and VIVES are working during those two weeks with the Philippines.
During one week, those students are accompanied by 80 Howest and International Design students in their creation of a prototype of their idea. They are participating in the Intensive Programme of Industrial Product Design.
On Friday February 14, 2020, you are all invited to come to the presentation of those results at 13h00 at the Industrial Design Center of Howest (Marksesteenweg 58, 8500 Kortrijk)!
