The Livingston County Animal Shelter serves as the sole safety net for over 1,000 animals in our community each year, providing care for strays, owner surrenders, and abandoned, neglected, or injured animals throughout the county. Their dedicated team goes beyond basic sheltering—they provide veterinary care, host public clinics including trap, neuter, release programs, coordinate adoptions through their facility and offsite events, and offer educational classes to the community. When kennel space allows, they even extend their compassion to assist overpopulated shelters in other communities. Every animal receives comprehensive care including microchipping, spay/neuter surgery, and vaccinations as they work toward finding each one a loving home.
Your donation will directly address critical needs that will improve outcomes for animals and adopters alike. Currently operating at capacity with only 18 kennels, the shelter desperately needs facility improvements that will transform their ability to serve animals and the community. Funds will create specialized spaces including a nursery area, quarantine facilities, larger kennels for puppy litters and nursing mothers, quiet rooms for senior or fearful dogs away from kennel noise, additional cat condos for large kitten litters, and a dedicated meet-and-greet room where families can connect with potential pets. Money raised will also support diagnostic equipment for better medical care, improved outdoor spaces for canine exercise, an enhanced community pet pantry, and expanded outreach programs offering free spaying/neutering, vaccines, and microchipping.
By supporting the Livingston County Animal Shelter, you're investing in a compassionate community that values every life and ensures homeless animals receive the second chance they deserve.
