JOURNALISTIC WRITING - VIDEO DESCRIPTION

Journalistic writing provides students the opportunity to develop writing, editing and decision-making skills by focusing on events, personalities, and issues in the "real" world. They learn how to find sources, interview, report and research and how to distinguish between fact and opinion through the following experiences: writing straight news stories, feature stories, editorials, opinion columns, sports and critical reviews. Students learn the art of design for page layout. Students learn the responsibilities that are inherent in First Amendment freedoms.
