What We Do
We inspire VISION, practice EMPATHY, and demonstrate TENACITY.
LEAD is a year-round program that inspires underserved students during their tenure in middle school. The four pillars of our character development program provide a comprehensive skill set for our students to be successful in life and to overcome the odds.
We are a community preparing Houston's under-served middle school students for leadership and success in high school and beyond.
LEAD’s vision is to eliminate the 9th grade dropout rate in the Greater Houston Area by helping middle school students:
- create a vision for personal success
- build a solid foundation to achieve their goals
THE FOUR PILLARS
OUR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
“The great hope of society is individual character.” William Ellery Channing
Life skills are presented weekly in schools to help cultivate social-emotional learning.
Summer enrichment provides interactive learning and access to new adventures while exploring our local and greater communities.
Group mentoring matches students with individuals, community groups, and volunteers to support students' vision and growth.
Community engagement prepares students to lead, drive change, and give back.
TENACITY. DETERMINATION. PERSEVERANCE.
LEADers experience wilderness adventures during the summer months. Journeys apply the character growth lessons beyond the classroom and help drive further impact.
TETON SCIENCE SCHOOLS
Meaningful growth happens with place-based learning in the Grand Tetons. This experience inspires student engagement and encourages leadership.
STONEY CREEK RANCH
LEADers grow in confidence, try new activities, create shared experiences, and apply LEAD lessons outdoors.
Our LEADers have traveled all over the country including; Colorado, New York, Missouri, Washington, California, Maine, Wyoming, and Texas
