Student-Led Initiatives are a way for Rhinos to lead, take action, and be part of a team without having to join a club. Jump into a project that interests you, help solve a problem, serve our school or community, and make an idea happen.
Break Baskets
Help us support CVHS families who may need a little extra help during school breaks. Students can organize donations, pack baskets, coordinate outreach, and help with delivery.
Peer Support & Tutoring
Use what you know to help another Rhino succeed! Tutor, mentor, help with organization and study skills, or share strategies that have worked for you.
Lanier Tutorials
Volunteer at Lanier Middle School on Wednesdays from 4:00–5:30 PM to help students with homework and academics while serving as a positive high school role model. Students must provide their own transportation.
Student Support Night
Help us plan an event that connects CVHS students and families with resources, information, and tools for student success. We need students who want to plan, share ideas, and be part of the solution.
Spanish-Speaking Solutions
Help us improve how we connect and share information with our Spanish-speaking students and families. We’re looking for bilingual students who want to help us build better solutions.
Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS)
CVHS has partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Memorial Hermann to connect students with mentors. Students meet with their mentors twice a month, with the goal of building a relationship that can continue from freshman through senior year. Applications may reopen in the future.
Rhino Camp
Help us plan next year’s Rhino Camp, our inclusive camp designed to welcome and support incoming freshmen and sophomores. Help us make the next Rhino Camp even better!
Graphic Design Team
Creative Rhinos wanted! Help us create flyers, graphics, signs, and other designs for student programs and events — and earn volunteer hours while building your portfolio.
Have an idea?
See a problem around CVHS that you think students could help solve? Bring it to us! Students are encouraged to share ideas, identify needs, and lead projects of their own.
