Musicians nowadays often have to make their living having portfolio careers whereas back in Haydn’s day, musicians would aim to be a court composer for a wealthy noble, or Kapellmeister at a wealthy church.

A Level Compositions have to show intention, audience and occasion- linked to use of the composition in the real world.

Year 13

Part of the criteria for the A Level Performances is an overall judgement on performance quality as if performed to an external audience.
