This half term, our Vision Award Assembly focused on the value of Sincere. Throughout the half term, the children have been learning about what it means to be sincere in assembly, showing honesty, kindness, thoughtfulness and genuine care towards others in both their words and actions. It has been wonderful to see so many children demonstrating this value across the school each and every day.

Teachers carefully selected one child from each class who has consistently embodied this value and served as a positive role model to others. These children have shown sincerity through their attitudes to learning, friendships, behaviour and the way they contribute to our school community. A huge congratulations to all of the children who received a Vision Award this half term — we are incredibly proud of your achievements and the example you set for others.

Year 5 recently travelled back in time for an exciting Ancient Greek Celebration Day! The children arrived dressed in fantastic costumes, transforming the school into a scene from Ancient Greece. The day marked the culmination of the children’s history unit, in which they explored the lasting legacy of the Ancient Greeks and how their ideas and achievements continue to shape the modern world.

Throughout the day, pupils immersed themselves in a variety of hands-on activities that brought their learning to life. The children explored the creativity of Ancient Greek culture by making their own clay pottery, designing and crafting Greek-style coins, and creating laurel wreaths inspired by those worn by victorious athletes and scholars. One of the highlights of the day was learning about famous Greek philosophers and taking part in thoughtful philosophical debates, encouraging the children to question, reason, and share their ideas confidently.

As part of their learning, the children reflected on the many ways Ancient Greece still influences society today, including democracy, philosophy, theatre, sport, art, and architecture. The celebration day provided a memorable opportunity for the children to showcase their knowledge and deepen their understanding of one of history’s most influential civilisations.

Thank you to parents and carers for supporting the day with such imaginative costumes, which helped to make the experience even more special.

This week, Years 4, 5 and 6 were treated to a fantastic performance from the Drama and Musical Theatre students at University of West London. The brand-new production, developed in collaboration with the university’s Criminology department, explored themes of rules, consequences and kindness, highlighting how fairness, empathy and understanding can positively shape behaviour and relationships.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the performance and were completely engaged from beginning to end. They especially loved how the story was told through animal characters, which made the important messages both exciting and accessible for younger audiences. The creativity, humour and energy of the performers captivated the pupils and created a memorable experience for all. We would like to thank the students and staff from the university for providing such an inspiring and enjoyable opportunity for our children.

Eleven children took part in a water polo match against Notting Hill and Ealing. 

The team played really well, showed great teamwork, and tried their best throughout the game, putting their skills to work.

Although they did not win, they demonstrated excellent effort, determination, and sportsmanship. 

Well done to all the children who took part!

The Horsenden Girls football team produced a fantastic second-half comeback to defeat Selbourne Primary 5-2 in the Ealing Girls Schools Cup Quarter Final.

Horsenden went into half time 1-0 down after a challenging first half, but the team showed excellent character, determination and resilience to respond brilliantly after the break. The girls came out with far more energy and intensity in the second half and quickly turned the game around with an outstanding team performance.

Macy got Horsenden back into the game early in the second half, scoring an excellent goal to make it 1-1 and spark the comeback. Layla then found her shooting boots, scoring a brilliant hat-trick to help fire Horsenden into the semi-finals. After Selbourne pulled a goal back to make the score 3-2, Macy responded immediately with a superb goal from the halfway line to restore Horsenden’s two-goal advantage at 4-2. Layla then completed her hat-trick — and Horsenden’s fifth goal — to seal a deserved victory.

Every player in the squad contributed to the win, working tirelessly for one another and showing superb teamwork, belief and resilience throughout the match. It was an excellent comeback performance from the Horsenden Girls team, who now look ahead to the semi-finals with growing confidence as they continue to develop and improve together

On 21st May 2026 Horsenden proudly sent a team to compete in the Quad Kids School Games. They took part in a range of athletic activities, trying their best and supporting one another every step of the way. The children showed great teamwork, determination and enthusiasm throughout the event. 

It was also a lovely day with very good weather, which made the experience even more enjoyable for everyone involved. The team had lots of fun and gained valuable experience from the competition. They learnt new skills, built confidence and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the day. Horsenden are very proud of all the pupils who represented the school so well.
