Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic end-of-year trip to the National Gallery in London. The children were thrilled to see famous works of art by Van Gogh and Monet and took part in a special colour workshop, where they explored how artists use colour to create mood and meaning. 

We spent the day as true London tourists, strolling through the beautiful St James’s Park and spotting adorable goslings along the way. One of the highlights was witnessing the spectacular Changing of the Guard before wandering down The Mall to Buckingham Palace, where the King was definitely at home, with the Royal Standard flying proudly above the palace! 

We were also lucky enough to watch soldiers practising their marching on Horse Guards Parade and listening to the band playing. It was a wonderful day filled with art, history and unforgettable experiences—a perfect way to celebrate the end of a successful year in Year 3.

This week, our Year 6 pupils took part in the Ealing Junior Citizen Scheme, an engaging and informative programme designed to help children stay safe as they prepare for the transition to secondary school and greater independence.

During the visit, pupils participated in four interactive scenarios led by representatives from the former Safer Schools and Youth Engagement Team of the Metropolitan Police Service, alongside the London Fire Brigade, London Ambulance Service and Transport for London. Through these realistic situations, children learned about potential dangers they may face in everyday life, how to respond safely, and how to use the 999 emergency system correctly.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and gained valuable knowledge and confidence. Many pupils shared that they particularly enjoyed learning what to do in the event of a fire and understanding which emergency service to contact in different situations.
