Horsenden Primary School
Horsenden Primary School
Message from the Headteacher
This week, we were treated to a wonderful class assembly from 2S, who shared their learning about inspirational individuals who have helped to change and shape the world. Learning about the achievements, determination and resilience of influential people helps our children to develop their own aspirations and understand how they can make a positive difference in the future. Thank you to the children and staff of 2S for such a memorable assembly.
I would also like to congratulate the Horsenden Cricket Team on their excellent achievement at the Borough competition this week. The team represented the school exceptionally well, demonstrating great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the event. We are very proud of all the pupils involved and the fantastic effort they put into the competition.
Finally, Horsenden’s Got Talent has officially been launched, and excitement is already building across the school. We are very much looking forward to seeing the auditions take place next week and discovering the many talents our pupils have to share.
See the bottom of the 'Updates' page for more details about upcoming diary events!
2S Class Sharing Assembly
We were delighted to welcome families to 2S's wonderful class sharing assembly today. The children proudly showcased their learning in History, sharing what they have discovered about inspirational individuals who have helped to change and shape the world for the better.
The class spoke confidently about the lives and achievements of Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks and Malala Yousafzai, explaining how each of these remarkable people showed courage, determination and resilience in standing up for equality, justice and education. The children impressed everyone with their fantastic oracy skills, speaking with expression and enthusiasm. They also showcased their wonderful singing and signing talents, ending the assembly with a beautiful performance that was both moving and uplifting.
We are incredibly proud of every member of 2S for their hard work, confidence and commitment. Thank you to all the families who joined us to celebrate their learning and achievements.
Horsenden Cricket Team Borough Competition
Horsenden Cricket Team recently took part in a borough cricket competition, enjoying a fantastic day of sport, teamwork, and friendly competition. The event brought together teams from across the borough, giving players the opportunity to showcase their skills, represent their school with pride, and experience the excitement of competitive cricket.
Throughout the day, the team demonstrated excellent enthusiasm, determination, and sportsmanship. Every player contributed positively, supporting one another both on and off the field. There were many highlights, including some impressive batting performances, accurate bowling, and committed fielding efforts.
The competition lasted for around eight hours, providing the team with plenty of opportunities to play, learn, and develop their understanding of the game. Although the weather eventually took a turn for the worse and the competition had to be abandoned towards the end due to rain, this did little to dampen the spirits of the players.
Overall, it was a highly enjoyable and successful experience for Horsenden Cricket Team. The pupils represented the school exceptionally well and should be proud of their efforts. The day was filled with memorable moments, valuable experiences, and a shared love of cricket that everyone involved thoroughly enjoyed.
