Horsenden Primary School
Message from the Headteacher
The highlight of our week has without doubt been taking two groups of children to two FIFA Women’s Football Semi-Final matches at the Gtech Stadium in Brentford — one in the daytime and one in the evening. It was an unforgettable experience and, for some of our children, a true once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch world-class football live. With goals, skill and atmosphere filling the stadium, it was a night (and day!) many of them will remember for years to come.
This incredible opportunity only happened because of the teamwork behind the scenes. A huge thank you to Miss Nicola for securing the tickets, and to all the staff who made it possible at such short notice — from planning and paperwork, to organising groups, writing letters, creating forms, covering classes, attending the matches (some late into the evening), and even sending updates from home. We are also grateful to the parents who supported the trip and helped make it run so smoothly.
Moments like these remind us of the wide range of experiences we work hard to create for children across the school throughout the year. Even more opportunities to develop and inspire our children will be coming in the weeks ahead through a range of personal development trips.
This was a wonderful example of our Horsenden community coming together for the children. Every person who played a part is a superstar — and we could not have done it without you.
See the bottom of the 'Updates' page for more details about upcoming diary events!
3S Sharing Assembly
On Thursday morning 3S treated us to an outstanding sharing assembly all about their Geography learning. The children confidently presented what they have been learning about our world, including the continents, seas, weather and climate, and how these factors can affect the way people visit and experience different countries.
The assembly was brought to life with lovely songs and clear, engaging explanations. The children spoke with confidence and enthusiasm, keeping the audience entertained throughout. We were all very impressed by their knowledge, teamwork and presentation skills. Well done, 3S!
FIFA Women's Football Trip
This week, we were fortunate to secure some tickets to Brentford Football Stadium, to watch two unmissable semi-final matches: Gotham FC vs SC Corinthians and Arsenal Women FC vs ASFAR.
It was a fantastic experience for all those who attended. Children experienced the atmosphere of live sport and connect with top-level women’s football and feel the thrill of live action right in front of them.
This trip was for children who have consistently demonstrated the HORSE code or who have excelled in sports including swimming.
Our pupils were a credit to the school throughout the entire trip. They represented us impeccably — both inside the stadium and during travel — showing respect, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour at all times. We’re delighted we could offer this opportunity and look forward to many more exciting enrichment experiences ahead.
Thank you to all our parents and carers who are using the Arbor Parent App to stay connected with school.
All school emails are now sent through Arbor and will continue to arrive in your usual email inbox. Don't forget to check your junk/spam email and move it to your inbox, and mark as a safe sender.
We are now also using in-app messages for shorter updates and notifications. These are free for the school to send, helping us reduce costs and communicate more efficiently.
Trips, Horsenden clubs, payments, consents and parents’ evening appointment bookings are now all managed through the app too, making everything quicker and easier in one place.
Please ensure notifications are enabled to receive alerts for your in-app messages. If you need any help registering or setting up, please contact the school office.
