Year 4 have been busy putting their design and technology skills into action by creating their very own cereal bars- and it certainly got a little messy along the way! The children followed the full DT process, from planning and making to evaluating their finished product, carefully selecting ingredients and working practically to bring their ideas to life.

Alongside this, pupils designed eye-catching packaging for their cereal bars, thinking carefully about shape, colour and information. They also created a brand name and considered how their product would be marketed to customers. It was fantastic to see such creativity, teamwork and problem-solving and to watch the children take real pride in both the making process and their final designs.

Our Year 5 children enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Science Museum last Friday, as part of their unit of Earth and Space.

 The day was packed with discovery as the children explored the fascinating space galleries, learning more about planets, stars, and the mysteries of our universe. A highlight of the visit was an incredible space-themed film at the IMAX Theatre, where the children were taken on a cinematic journey through space, experiencing what it might feel like to travel beyond Earth.

The trip was both educational and inspiring, sparking curiosity and big questions about the world — and universe — around us!

Yesterday our school was filled with Christmas cheer as we celebrated our annual Christmas Dinner and Jumper Day. The children looked wonderfully festive in their colourful jumpers and certainly brought plenty of sparkle to the day! Thank you to all our parents and carers for their generous donations to the Save the Children charity which raised over £250.

Everyone enjoyed their lunch, whether they tucked into a delicious Christmas meal prepared by our fantastic ISS kitchen team or brought along their own packed lunch. The hall was buzzing with excitement as children pulled crackers, shared jokes, and listened to some Christmassy tunes while they ate.

A huge thank you goes to all the staff who helped the lunch run smoothly. With over 550 meals cooked and served, it was a truly impressive team effort. We would like to give a special thank you to Miss Carla, our Cook, and the ISS staff for their hard work, organisation, and festive spirit.
