The Great Migration
During the World War I and Continuing into the 1920s African Americans from the South began moving in large numbers to northern urban areas. This is often called "The Great Migration".
- Examine the Three Illustration sheets in the "Lesson1 -Moving North" Documents.
- Answer the Circled Questions on a reflection page for the Standard 6 notes in your notebooks.
- Also on that page (add paper if necessary), create a T-Chart. The left hand column will be labeled "Long Term Causes" and the right side will be labeled "Immediate Causes"
- Fill in the T-Chart using the lecture notes and the information from these illustrations.
- Include a description of the cause as well as an explanation why you placed it in the column you chose.
