Fortnite
A third-person cartoon style battle royale that has a story interconnected with the battle royale that changes over the different seasons they have. Fortnite also has a bunch of game modes that are player made and also created by the developers.
This game revolutionized battle-passes which infected all different genres that made many games fail because they tried to revolve their game around the battle-pass system. This also made companies realize they could charge any price for in game products and has made everything overpriced. The battle royale aspect has dominated the battle royale genre and no other battle royale has come close to what fortnite has produced. The reason I chose Fortnite as number 10 is because it had such a choke hold on kids and adults when it first released in 2017 and that in 2024 it still holds a significant amount of players every month which is 650k+. Another reason is because it's a simple game to get into so anybody of any age can play it and that it has any gamemode that you can imagine from horror, hide n seek, and parkour.

Cyberpunk 2077
The game mainly focuses on a guy named Vincent. Vincent has to steal a bio-chip from Arasaka corporation and it goes horrible. The chip infects Vincent and makes him sick. Vincent has to think about his life and what he has to do to find the cure. This leads him to find out all the secrets of Night city and he has to make good or bad choices on the secrets he stumbled upon. This forces him to choose what path he goes down.
The reason I chose this game as number 9 is because it had a terrible launch which made everyone dislike it. The glitches ranged from seeing trees through buildings, T-posing npc, game texture glitching out, and mouths not moving during cutscenes. A couple of years later CD Projekt Red announced they would be releasing an anime called Cyberpunk. It became so popular that it revived the game to give the developers a second chance. The devs made patches and released DLC which helped Cyberpunk become one of best futuristic games. The game stands out because it was one of the first games to make a great tv show adaptation.

Far Cry 3
The game takes place on an island that is ruled over by pirates and mercenaries. The main character named Jason Brody goes skydiving with his friends and is captured. He escapes and joins a resistance which helps him try to rescue his friends. The Antagonist kidnaps and tortures Jason a couple times to try and bring out his killer instincts. Jason decides to try and free the island from the pirates which leads him down a path that changes him overtime.
The reason I chose this game as number 8 is because it has one of the best Antagonists in gaming. The game shows the psychological changes of all the different characters. It allows for in-depth studies of each character. We watch the main character go from being a rich brat to a killer over a period of time.

Detroit Become Human
The game follows three different androids named Kara, Connor, and Markus. Kara watches her owner abuse his daughter which makes her break the program and try to save her. They both run away and find themselve lost and scared. They wander around the city and try to find help. Kara tries to find a way into Canada. Connor is a detective android that was built to help with androids that broke the program and works with a human detective to find them. Connor can choose to become deviated or to stay as an android. Markus is a caretaker for a painter and watches his owner die. He becomes a deviate and leads the Android revolution. He can decide to be peaceful or to harm humans. The game has over 50+ endings for all characters.
The main reason I chose this game as number 7 is because it's one of the best story interactive. The android revolution is very similar to the civil rights movement. Which could allow people to learn more about civil rights and what measure people went to achieve the rights they have today. The depth of each character and why they want to complete their goals is amazing. It shows the growth of different characters. The reason I placed this game number 6 of all numbers is because of its slow pace to get to the point of the story but portrays emotions a lot better than the games above this.
6.
Dark Souls
You play as a cursed human character who sets out to pilgrimage to discover the fate of other undead humans themselves.
Why:
I chose this as number six is because of the storytelling and world building. Another reason is because of how hard the game is and the amount of time you need to spend to beat the game.

The Last Of Us 1
Last Of Us 1 is a post-apocalyptic story that revolves around Joel and Ellie. Joel tries to escape town with his brother and daughter. The military starts to open fire on people. A soldier stops Joel and his daughter and kills her. His brother Tommy kills the soldier. 20 years later Joel is tasked to escort Ellie across post-apocalyptic America to a group called fireflies. While he escorts her they grow a tight father daughter type bond.
The growth of both of these characters allowed for this to be on this list as number 5. The story built around the world is amazing and makes you feel like you're actually in the game. Joel and Ellie's close bond allows for you to have emotions for the characters. The Last of Us is one of the best narrative-driven games for the zombie genre. This game is so popular that it also received a TV show and a sequel for the game.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
The main character's name is Nathan Drake, who is a retired treasure hunter who is coaxed back into the gig after his partner named Victor Sullivan told him about how close Samuel was close to finding Henry Avery’s long lost treasure. They both go look for the treasure and find an island that holds Henry Avery treasure. There is a military group that is also looking for treasure which Nathan knows the owner of. Samuel is found working for the group and is being held at gunpoint. Nathan decides to help his brother while finding the treasure. They find it and the pirate ship is burnt down by the bad guy named Rafe Adler. Nathan Drake finally retires and has a daughter with his wife.
The game has one of the best quotes that has come out of gaming. Rafe Adler said, “You want to hear insane? Nathan Drake raced a madman and his entire army to the steps of Shambhala. Nathan Drake found a lost city in the middle of the Rub' al Khali desert. Nathan Drake discovered the fabled El Dorado! Nathan Drake is a legend". The graphics are amazing for 2016. The history in the game allows for teachers to use it to teach about historical figures like Henry Avery, Thomas Tew, Anne Bonny, and Edward England. The character development from Uncharted 1 to this game is amazing. The depth of each character in this game is fantastic. Uncharted 4 has some of the best movement and puzzles. The reason I chose this as number 4 is because it's the best out of the whole uncharted games and it has the best ending out of all of them.
3.
Batman Arkham Asylum
Batman captures Joker and sends him to Arkham Asylum. Joker has made a plan to trap Batman on the island. Joker takes over Arkham Asylum and releases all the inmates and makes them hunt down Batman.Joker threatens to blow up Gotham City with bombs he placed. Batman has to go around fighting all the main bad guys. He defeats all the inmates and decides to fight Joker. Joker takes the titan formula and injects himself with it. Joker fights Batman and gets defeated by him. Batman returns Arkham Asylum over to the GCPD.
The game is one of the best adaptations of comics. It released one of the best fighting combat systems which no other combat game has ever come close to. Two of the best voice actors, Mark Hamil and Kevin Conroy voice Batman and Joker. The atmosphere of the game is the best out of any Batman games. The reason you should play this game first is because it's the first game of the batman game so it sets the stones for all the other games. The reason I picked it for number 3 is because of its story.
2.
Ghost Of Tsushima
Ghost of Tsushima is a story about the first Mongol invasion of Japan. The main Character is Jin Sakai. He is a samurai and fights alongside other samurai. They get defeated and the Mongols take over the island. He has to decide to drop the moral code of the samurai. When he does that he becomes a ghost of tsushima and the local people start to support his cause. Jin goes around killing captains and retaking land that the Mongols took over. He takes back all his land and then kills the leader of the Mongols called Khotun Khan. The people support him but the Shogun dislikes how he breaks the samurai code. His uncle comes to duel him to decide his fate if he wants to redeem himself or to fully become the ghost of Tsushima.
The first reason I chose this game as number 2 is because of its history surrounding Japan. It shows how even if you did the right thing the shogun wants you to follow the rules and laws no matter what. Another reason is because a movie is being made for this game. The character development for the main character and the people around him is amazing. The development of all the characters happens through both the cutscene and gameplay. The main character has to start doing dirty tricks to defeat the Mongols while the samurai honor code says to fight your enemy with honor.
1.
Red Dead Redemption 2
The story is about an outlaw named Arthur Morgan. He is a part of the Van der Linde gang. They rob banks, people, and other gangs to raise money for Tahiti. He mysteriously gets sick and starts to worsen overtime. The gang starts to fall apart and Arthur has to decide to stay loyal or leave the gang. You then play as a character named John Marston
I chose this game as the number one because it has some of the best graphics and storylines. Another reason is because the character arc that Arthur has throughout the game goes from being a bad guy to trying to redeem himself and become a better person. It is the best western game in the genre. The atmosphere and the world building around it are some of the finest in gaming. The world changes when you progress through the story. The exploring and linear aspects of the game are amazing. The character development from all the characters in Red Dead 2 are some of the best. Every character starts to regret the things they have done and what they’re becoming. The gang starts to steer away from having a goal in mind to becoming another gang that just steals.
