Luke 22:42 (NIV) “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

Description

The willingness of Jesus to obey the Father, to be the sacrificial lamb, demonstrates obedience and submission. This willingness also shows us the humility of Jesus. These attributes should be our standards in our lives.

Reflection Questions

• Is there any difference between being humble and being weak?

• In what way do you think you are (or are not) a humble person?

• How could you demonstrate obedience and be submissive to God’s will in your lives?

Prayer Points

• Thank God for Jesus, who is obedient and submissive to God’s will for our redemption

• Ask God to reveal any areas of disobedience, rebellion and pride, and that you need to surrender to Him.

• Ask God to help you become more obedient, submissive and humble in His sight.
