Fast & Prayer Week

John 3:20 (NIV) Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.
If Jesus could have accomplished all He came to do without fasting, why then did He fast?
He made it clear that fasting, like giving and praying, is a normal part of Christian Life. As much attention should be given to fasting as is given to giving and to praying. Could we be missing our greatest breakthroughs because we failed to fast & pray?
As a lead-up towards Easter, let us embark on a fast and pray week to draw near to God. As we decrease what is worldly and increase what is of God, may each of us begin to experience the victory Jesus had won for us on the Cross. Let us remember…
“VICTORIES ARE NOT WON IN PUBLIC, BUT IN PRIVATE”
“God desires that His people cease their unjust practices, and their neglect of the poor and hungry. Depriving ownself of food is not necessarily laudable in God’s eyes, but depriving others of food is indeed culpable. Tearing one’s garments as a sign of repentance does not atone for failing to provide clothing to those who need it” – Marianne Meye Thompson-
