Cooking Classes for Winter 2024

Our Winter Semester of classes is now open! Classes run from January through April 2024.
A class makes a WONDERFUL gift for someone on your list who loves to cook but already has every tool under the sun.

To book these classes - simply choose what interests you and follow the link (button) for each class to book by email (customers @ hookedinc.ca)
If you have your own group and your own date in mind - let us know! We're happy to host a private class for you and yours.

This class is a dinner and a learning experience. Arrive hungry! Each class is capped at 8 people as our new kitchen accommodates less bodies. Class prices below do not include HST.

Cold Weather Comforts

A Love-In at Hooked

A three star evening with your honey: Oysters, Caviar, Scallops + Lobster.

An intimate evening in the Hooked kitchen: Learn to shuck (and eat) oysters, get a lesson in caviar presentation and pairings, sit down to perfectly seared scallops with a beautiful sauce and finish with lobster!

Japanese Soul Fish

No sushi in sight! A class focused around the tasty, casual and soul-filling fish dishes common to both the Japanese home and street food scene including okonomiyaki and ramen.

Chris' 5-Star Favourites Class

Given that our Retail Director, Chris, has assisted EVERY SINGLE CLASS since we’ve begun classes again, we decided it was high time for Chris to pick their absolute favourite dishes for Kristin to teach (BTW, these are also among Kristin’s favourite dishes). 

Chris has chosen recipes that pack the most flavour, are pretty quick to make, inventive and dinner-party worthy. As Chris says, ”These are the ones that bring tears to my eyes”.

Fish Butchery Fundamentals

Ever wanted to learn how to filet a fish? Butterfly a fish? If yes, then this is YOUR class. We will teach you the basics as well as the more advanced techniques to fileting your own fish at home. We’ll also teach a couple of basic fish cooking methods to help you pull off the perfect shore lunch.

Hot, Sour, Salty: Mexican Fish at Hooked

It’s no secret that Kristin LOVES Mexican food. Learn the fundamentals of cooking bright and vibrant fish at home, using traditional techniques and latin flavours. Bring your appetite, you’re going to want to eat it all.
