Choral Program

The HCHS Choral Program provides opportunities for students to be logistically creative and creatively logistic. Three curricular choirs are offered to students:

Choir students Create, Perform, Respond, and Connect with choral concepts and application through collaborative and artistic courses. In Choir, students engage in sight-reading, ear training, music theory, vocal health and technique, preparing and performing a variety of repertoire, and more, which support Hononegah students in their comprehensive education.

 

About Mrs. Frieden

Mrs. Carolyn Frieden is thrilled to be in her fourth year at Hononegah directing the choral ensembles and teaching piano keyboarding. Mrs. Frieden graduated summa cum laude from Illinois State University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Music Education with Honors, and she is currently working toward a Master of Music Education degree at Shenandoah University. In addition to teaching curricular music, Mrs. Frieden directs Hononegah's Vocal Jazz Ensemble and advises the American Sign Language Club. Mrs. Frieden also choreographs and directs the All-School Spring Musical with her husband Mr. Christian Frieden who teaches Theater Arts and English at Hononegah.
