BSA Hong Kong Historical Trail

Hong Kong is one of the most exciting cities in the world, blending Chinse and Western culture in a uniquely local way. The city is a major center of international finance, shipping, and trade, resulting in one of the most vibrant and richest economies in the world. On the BSA Hong Kong Historical Trail, you will get to see some amazing sights in the city up close, while also learning about Hong Kong's long relationship with international Scouting and BSA.

About this Hike

This is a city hike, designed to introduce hikers to unique aspects of Hong Kong's history and the city's relationship with Scouting. It is approximately 8.5 km (5.3 miles) over relatively flat terrain. On sections of the hike, you will proceed by ferry. There are also many optional stops, so be sure to bring approx. $200-300 HKD per person. The basic hike should take approx. 4 hours, but the optional stops will extend the time. This guidebook is designed so that hikers can self-navigate along the trail and tailor the hike to their own particular interests.

Patches

The final stop on the trail is in the B-P International Hotel. The hotel lobby includes statues of Scouts and a portrait of Baden-Powell. Take a photograph of your group next to the Scout statues. After the hike, email the photo to email hkhistoricaltrail@gmail.com for eligibility to receive a HK Historical Trails patch. The cost is $5 USD per patch.
