Student Assessments and Growth

Meyer and Woolls students are assessed three times per year (beginning, middle, and end) to help monitor their progress and growth.  Kinder, first, and second grade students are given the mCLASS reading assessments while third through fifth grade students take the MAP Growth assessments in reading, math, and science (fifth grade only).  See below for more information about these assessments and the reports that will be shared with you.

mCLASS Reading

Based on over 30 years of research, mCLASS® is the gold-standard K–6 assessment and intervention suite for early literacy that helps every child learn to read confidently.

mCLASS Home Connect - This site provides resources for families to practice and reinforce important literacy skills with their children.

MAP Growth

MAP Growth is the most trusted and innovative assessment for measuring achievement and growth in K–12 math, reading, language usage, and science. It provides teachers with accurate, actionable evidence to help inform instructional strategies regardless of how far students are above or below grade level.

Beginning in third grade, students will also take the end of year state assessments known as STAAR.  For more information about the STAAR test and tools and resources available to parents, please see below.
