Paint the Plow
By: Shelby Ursiak
PennDot is sponsoring a Paint The Plow Program that allows different schools throughout the state to participate in decorating snow plows. PennDot provided a snow plow blade to our community that was decorated by Homer- Center students. PennDot allowed the students to choose between a winter safety theme, weather motif, or our school mascot. Students were allowed to be creative and unique with the project to represent Homer-Center School District. The goal of the program is to promote the school’s art program and build appreciation for PennDOT. The plow will be put to use throughout the school’s community promoting safety and public awareness for road safety during the winter-weather months.
There will be a ‘Judges’ Pick’ and a “Fan Favorite” winner. For Judges’ Pick, there is a panel of representatives from the PennDOT district office, PennDOT central office, or local community organizations or business owners. The Fan Favorite is chosen by PennDOT’s Facebook page for the most likes. Voting results will be received soon! The plow will be put to use throughout the school’s community promoting safety and public awareness for road safety during the winter-weather months.
