Our Fine Arts Program includes all of our grade levels from kindergarten to 8th grade, exploring all of the elements of art. This includes art history, drawing, painting, printmaking, clay, 3D art, that vary with a wide range of styles. We have presentations of art works, and learn how to critique works of art from famous artists and incorporate it into our own work. In the clips above our children are at the Barnes Foundation engaging in a workshop to see how math and STEAM are incorporated into various styles of art.
Technology is also included in our program. Our Middle school unit uses pro-create on iPads in various art projects, which are then finalized by printing in our tech lab. The Elementary unit will learn many hands-on projects with artists and their associated styles. And our Primary unit will experience color theory and stories of several artists and different styles of art, by doing hands-on work and reading stories as a class.
Our After-school program for grades 6-8 will offer Pottery Club, Acrylic Painting Club, and Sculpty Clay Club. Grades K- 5 will each have a holiday craft.
My favorite art quote by renowned artist Keith Haring, "Art is for Everyone," could not be more applicable to our school art community. All students create in their own unique way and we will foster that together.
All of our grade levels will need a smock or any old shirt to protect their uniforms (Art will get messy!)
Any donations of tissues, paper towels or wipes are greatly appreciated!
