Welcome to Gecko Class Website!

As you are aware as the children move into Year 2 in September they will become Meerkats! Joining us in Meerkat Class will be Mrs Griffiths and Miss Phillips. We are really looking forward to working with the children again and are excited to see their progress in Year 2!

Here is a digital copy of the homework/Reading Challenge booklet sent home in the first week of half term.

Gecko Class Remote Learning information - WB 11.1.21

Good morning Geckos! Well done for all your efforts last week for our first week of home learning. As you would have heard from the information Miss Todd gave out on Friday, our home learning is going to start to look slightly different. As always though it will be great fun!

From now on we will email your work daily (the evening before to allow parents to prepare). We will also be giving you a timetable of what is coming up for the week so that you know what to expect. We will now only be sending your homelearning via your tabecat email as we have been doing and not on this class webpage. Hopefully you have all been accessing your emails weekly but in case you have any problems here is some information to help.

In order to access your emails please click on the email link on the tabecat page. If you do this on a device or phone as this is a google account it may automatically bring up your other gmail accounts in which case you will need to add your email.

The email address is username@tabecat.com and the password is the same as your log in.

We have also included at the end of this post the information Mr Handy sent out earlier in the year regarding accessing emails, in case you encounter any issues.

Continue to access the Bug Club books in your virtual bookbag and practise all of the phonemes and tricky words on your cards in your wallets. We would like to remind you that we would like you to practise your reading skills regularly, daily where possible.

We would like you to send us your work or a picture of your work and we will give you feedback of how you are getting on. Completed work needs to be with us by the end of Thursday in order for us to provide feedback on Friday. We hope you all had a good weekend and are ready for a great week of learning. As always we are available to help with any problems you may have and are contactable on our emails.

A reminder of how our pupil emails are set up that will hopefully help:

Since 2010 we have used G Suite for Education (GSfE) for all staff & pupil email addresses. This is a Google product designed for educational use and does not have adverts. Each element of a usual Google account (Gmail, Drive etc.) is mirrored in G Suite for Education. The difference is that as a school we have greater control over what can and can not be done with each element, for example restricting access or filtering content.

Every pupil at Holy Trinity has a Google account using GSfE. The username for that account is their Tabecat email address. (In the same way an adult's Google account username is their Gmail address.)

Imagine a pupil called Bob Bobness (it's the imaginary person I use in lessons!) His Google account username is bobbob@tabecat.com - his email address.

So, when Bob wants to access his email and clicks on the email link on www.tabecat.com he is taken to a GMail/Google Account login page - because his school email address is part of his Google account.

The username is bobbob@tabecat.com and the password is the usual password for other logins.

If as a parent you are already logged into your GMail/Google Account you can choose to logout or "add another account" - in this case add means login as bobbob@tabecat.com

You do not need to register a new email account.

On a Chromebook your child can login using their Tabecat email address & usual password.

On an Android device you can add a new Google account and use your child's Tabecat email address & usual password for this.

Your child's Tabecat email address is a GMail/Google account.

child@tabecat.com works the same way as parent@gmail.com

Your child can only email within the people at school: to & from other @tabecat.com (pupils) and @holytrinithalstead.com (staff) email addresses. Some Google features are switched off for e-safety reasons.

Note 1: Logging into the Chrome browser or a Chromebook using your child's Tabecat address comes with extra e-safety protection as adblockers and content filters are automatically pushed out as they are at school. It can't be as strict as using our broadband at school with its extra filters, but it is useful.

Note 2: Tabecat is our e-safety mascot, which is why we have a Tabecat page and the chidren's email accounts are @tabecat.com

I know that this seem quite a lot to take in, but the bits in bold are the key bits. From the emails we've been receiving I know that a lot of pupils have been accessing their email accounts at home, but I understand that if you don't know your child's email is a Google Account it can cause some confusion.

Please let us know if you are still having problems and we'll try and help.

Gecko Class Remote Learning - WB 4.1.21

Happy New Year Gecko Class!

Here is your work for this week as we continue our remote learning. We have been impressed with all of the fabulous work that you completed before Christmas and we are sure that you will continue to do brilliantly whilst we continue to work from home for a little while longer. Remember that we like to hear from you weekly and love to see what you have been doing with some pictures emailed to us both lgladen@holytrinityhalstead.com and lking@holytrinityhalstead.com

English

1) Linked to our work in Geography and Science we will be exploring winter poetry over the next couple of weeks. We would first like you to explore a poem/rhyme called ‘Little Snowflakes’. This can be performed to the tune of ‘Frere Jacque’. We would like you to explore and perform the poem adding your own actions to it. We would love to see a video of you performing your favourite verse of the poem with the actions that you have made up.

2) Think about the season of winter. Watch this winter clip to help you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0Bv6hchrg0 . Write three sentences, on lined paper, about winter. Remember that sentences need to start with a capital letter, include finger spaces between words and end with a full stop. Make sure that your writing sits neatly on the lines and think about the size of your handwriting as well. You might like to draw a wintery picture to illustrate your sentences as well.

3) The final handwriting family that we need to learn to form correctly is the zig-zag monster letters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYtS8qXrdEA. Follow along with the lesson on lined paper at home. It is important to sit your letters on a line so if you do not have any lined paper at home, someone might be able to draw some lines for you.

Reading and Phonics

1) Continue to access the Bug Club books in your virtual bookbag and practise all of the phonemes and tricky words on your cards in your wallets.

2) Using the Winter Poem comprehension sheet found in the resource drive, read through the poem and answer the questions attached. We suggest asking an adult to help you to read through the poem and using the technique of echo reading (your grown-up to read a line and then you to follow the words and repeat the line). You might want to read through the poem a few times to understand it in order to answer the questions.

3) We would like you to explore split vowel digraphs. Here is a clip to help you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7faYbILI1s . Use the Split digraph table to write the words that match the pictures.

Maths

We would like you to consolidate your learning from the Autumn term. Access the videos from here https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/activity-week/ . We would like you to access: Day 3 - Wrap up warm, Day 4 - Dashing through the snow and Day 5 - Special delivery. All of the activities in these clips involve using skills that we have covered in class last term. Pause the videos, have a think and record your answers on a piece of paper.

If you enjoy the activities and also want to have a go at the Day 1 and Day 2 activities then please feel free to.

Science & Topic

In Science this term we will be looking at plants and trees. We can sort trees into two groups. Deciduous trees and evergreen trees. Learn about these two groups here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pMJ1KqZKF-k . When you go on a walk see if you can spot some deciduous and evergreen trees. Draw a picture of a deciduous tree and an evergreen tree in the Winter and label it to tell us which group it belongs to.

Merry Christmas Geckos!

We are so sorry we did not spend the last two weeks together but we are so proud of how hard you have been working at home.

We hope that you all have the best Christmas ever at home with your families and we can't wait to see you all again in the new year!

Best wishes

Mrs Gladen, Mrs King, Mrs Jamieson, Mrs Griffiths and Mrs Wriggley-Brooks.

Gecko Work - Week Beginning 14.12.20

Thank you to those children who have completed the work set and emailed us with a photo of what they have done. It is important to keep up with your learning at home.

English

Last week you watched a story of ‘The First Christmas’. Here is the link to have another watch https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/class-clips-video/religious-studies-ks1-the%20christian-story-of-the-first-christmas/z7fp382 . Use the storyboard to write sentences to accompany the pictures and create your own version of ‘The First Christmas’. Don’t worry if you do not have a printer to print the story board. Look at the pictures and write a sentence to match each picture on another piece of lined paper. You could draw your own pictures to accompany your writing.

Remember to keep your handwriting sitting neatly on the lines. Sentences always start with a capital letter, include finger spaces between words and end with a full stop.

Reading and Phonics

Please access your Bug Club bookbag with your username and password and school code mq9r. Read and complete the comprehension questions to at least two of the books in your virtual bookbag.

We are aware that some children have had problems accessing their virtual bookbag. If you can not login to the account on Bug Club, you could try reading these books from Oxford Owl https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk/for-home/find-a-book/library-page/

Your parents will need to register free to the site but there are books on here that are similar to what we have in school. Select levels > book band and click on the colour that you are working on. This is indicated as a sticker on one of your reading books in your zippy wallet.

Please remember to learn your sounds and words on your cards.

To help you learn your phonics have a go at https://www.ictgames.com/phonicsPop/index.html Select the phonemes that you are trying hard to learn as a practise.

Maths

Your work in maths this week involves exploring shape.

Lesson 1 and 2

Access https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/week-10-geometry-shape/

Pause at the parts that it instructs you to do so and have a go at the problems on screen. We do not have the worksheets that the clip mentions.

Then

Access https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/week-10-geometry-shape/

Watch the clip ‘Sort 3D shapes’

Pause at the parts that it instructs you to do so and have a go at the problems on screen. We do not have the worksheets that the clip mentions.

After watching the two lessons complete the 3D Shape maths activity sheets.

If you do not have access to a printer, Go on a 3D shape hunt around your home. Can you find, collect and group the shapes into cubes, cylinders, cuboids, pyramids, cones and spheres? Label your groups.

Lesson 3 and 4

Access https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/week-10-geometry-shape/

Watch the clip ‘Recognise and name 2D shapes’

Pause at the parts that it instructs you to do so and have a go at the problems on screen. We do not have the worksheets that the clip mentions.

Then

Access https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/week-10-geometry-shape/

Watch the clip ‘Sort 2D shapes’

Pause at the parts that it instructs you to do so and have a go at the problems on screen. We do not have the worksheets that the clip mentions.

After watching the two lessons access the ‘Build a Snowman 2D Shapes’ sheet. Your job is to make some snowmen with 2D shapes. Once you have made your snowmen, make a list of the 2D shapes that you have used. If you do not have a printer, create some of the shapes yourself and build your own snowman.

Have a look through the ‘White Rose Shape’ booklet. See if you can answer the questions after exploring shape this week. Again if you do not have a printer, discuss the answers to the questions with somebody at home.

Topic

In the resource section Mr Wiskin has provided you with some circuit training exercises that you might be able to complete in your home or in your garden. How many can you complete?

IT’S CHRISTMAS!!! Share a bit of Christmas joy by making a Christmas card for somebody. We have attached some ideas in the resource tab to give you some inspiration.

Remember to email us a picture of your work. We would love to see what you have completed.

Gecko Work - Week Beginning 7.12.20

English

Last week we planned a story about a character that makes a puppet which comes alive and goes on an adventure. You might have noticed on the planning sheet there were some of the FANTASTIC symbols that you are familiar with. In class we use these to help us to guide the sentences that we write. We used these to help us write our Pinocchio story.

We would like you to write your own story this week using your plan. You were all very excited to do this when we talked about it in class so we hope you enjoy this task. This might be quite a challenge to do it all in one go, so maybe try and do one plot point each day.

Plot point 1) Noticing - Include a sentence that uses descriptive words / adjectives for what the puppet looks like.

Plot point 2) Time adverbial - Include a word/phrase that describes when or how something happens e.g suddenly, later, that evening, all of a sudden, the next day, etc

Plot point 3) Action - Include words that describe how your puppet travelled on their adventure e.g ran, danced, skipped, jumped, tip-toed,

Plot point 4) Feelings - Include a sentence that describes feelings.

Note to parents/carers: We would expect most children to write about 3 sentences for each plot point but obviously this would vary depending on ability.

We have written a story as an example:

Once upon a time there was a kind lady called Beth. She made a sunshine yellow bear puppet with glittery buttons. The bear puppet was called Honey.

All of a sudden, a fairy appeared. She waved her magic wand and Honey came to life! Honey wanted to go on an adventure.

Honey skipped and skipped and skipped until she arrived at the beach. She watched the crashing waves. Then she built tall sandcastles.

Honey began to feel tired. She went home and had a cool vanilla ice cream. Beth was relieved that Honey had come home.

Please use lined paper to write your story (we have attached some in case you do not have any at home or you could ask an adult to draw some lines on a piece of paper for you). We have been working hard to keep our handwriting sitting neatly on the lines. Remember to write in complete sentences which start with a capital letter, include finger spaces between words and end with a full stop.

Phonics and Reading.

Please access your Bug Club bookbag with your username and password and school code mq9r. Read and complete the comprehension questions to at least two of the books in your virtual bookbag. You also have two school books that you can read again for fluency and please remember to learn your sounds and words on your cards.

This week we are beginning to explore split vowel digraphs. Watch this alphablocks clip as an introduction. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCvtMzUL0lw

Maths

In maths we would like you to continue your work on place value of numbers 0-20.

Lesson 1

Access https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/week-12-number-place-value-within-20/

Watch the clip ‘Order groups of objects’

Pause at the parts that it instructs you to do so and have a go at the problems on screen. We do not have the worksheets that the clip mentions. Complete the following:

  • Collect some different objects around your home and place them from greatest to least. Try and collect at least 3 different groups of objects of numbers between 0-20. Take a photo of your ordering.

  • Just like in the clip you have watched write the names of the people in your house. How many letters are in each name? Who has the most number of letters in their name? Who has the least number of letters in their name? Label the person who has the most and the person who has the least.

Lesson 2

Access https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/week-12-number-place-value-within-20/

Watch the clip ‘Order Numbers’

Pause at the parts that it instructs you to do so and have a go at the problems on screen. We do not have the worksheets that the clip mentions. Complete the following:

Play ‘greatest to smallest’. Use the attached cards (print and cut into single cards) or make your own number digit cards 0-20. Pick four cards from your pack and order them from greatest to smallest. Then play ‘smallest to greatest’ using four cards from your pack of cards. Take a picture of your number ordering.

Lesson 3

Access https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/week-11-number-place-value-within-20/

Watch the clip ‘count one more one less’

Pause at the parts that it instructs you to do so and have a go at the problems on screen. It mentions using a number track / number line to help which we have provided. We do not have the worksheets that the clip mentions. Complete the following:

Questions on the count one more and one less activity worksheets.

2.12.20

Here is your work for Thursday and Friday. We will be continuing the work we started in class from the beginning of the week.

Maths

Access whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/week-12-number-place-value-within-20/ . Watch the two videos: Compare groups of objects and Compare numbers. Watch each of the videos and work through the 'pause and have a think' questions as you watch them.

English

We have been exploring the story of Pinocchio in class and you have impressed us with all the fantastic writing you have been doing to retell this story. Earlier in the week, we discussed writing our own story about a puppet that comes alive and goes on an adventure. We will be writing a story about our bear puppet that we have started to make. We would like you to plan your story ready for writing. We have provided a planning sheet for you to print and use if you wish or you can divide a sheet of paper into four boxes similar. You need to draw your ideas for each plot point in the boxes. Click on the tab for the resource page to view the sheet.

Plot Point 1 - A man/lady/boy/girl makes a bear puppet.

Plot Point 2 - The bear puppet comes alive. In class we talked about how the puppet might come alive - magic words, a shooting star, a fairy appears, etc).

Plot Point 3 - The bear puppet goes on an adventure. In class we talked about it visiting a zoo, an enchanted wood, a cave, etc.

Plot Point 4 - The bear goes home. In class we talked about what it might do when it got home such as have dinner, a nice cup of hot chocolate, etc

Phonics

Access https://lettersandsounds.org.uk/for-home/year-1 . Click on the Summer Tab. Access the lessons that correspond with these phonemes ew, oe and au. Lesson 10 - ew- grew, Lesson 23 - oe - toe, Lesson 19 - au - author, Lesson 44 - ey - donkey .

If you have any questions please email us and email any work that you complete at the end of the week to lgladen@holytrinityhalstead.com and lking@holytrinityhalstead.com . We would love to see it.

20.11.20

A message from the office - If your child would like a Christmas Dinner lunch on Wednesday 16th December, this needs to be ordered online by 26.11.20.

This week we have begun learning the story of Pinocchio. The children have worked extremely hard to rewrite plot points of the story using interesting language. We have remembered our learning from last week and applied this to our writing, using full sentences and including full stops and capital letters. In maths, we have used our prior learning to deepen our understanding of subtraction, exploring different methods such as breaking apart, counting back and finding the difference. The children are using number lines and whole part models with increasing confidence. During our independent learning, the children have consolidated their number knowledge by identifying one more and one less than a given number. They have used their phonics skills for independent writing, to describe a sunset and have been using scientific knowledge to explore, compare and group materials.

Homework is being sent home again this week. Please complete and return in book bag to be collected by next Friday. As always, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to speak to either of us at the door or email us.

Have a wonderful weekend.

13.11.20

This week we have been learning about why remembrance day is special. In class we have used the CBeebies animation 'Poppies' to write our version of the rabbit's story. The children have worked really hard to write in full sentences, remembering to include a capital letter to start a sentence and a full stop to end a sentence with clear finger spaces between words. During our independent learning time the children have also created some beautiful poppy sun catchers which are all displayed in our classroom windows. We enjoyed watching Miss Todd lead the remembrance virtual assembly in the Public Gardens on Wednesday.

In maths we have been continuing to develop our addition skills and started to look at subtraction. The children are becoming more and more familiar with a part-part-whole model which supports them in their understanding of addition and subtraction and how they are related.

We hope that our reading raffle is encouraging the children to read as much as possible at home. Please keep practising the sounds and words cards as well as writing the words on the spelling cards. In our class phonic lessons, we have started our learning of the phonemes in Phase 5. This week we have been looking at 'ay', 'ou', 'ie' and 'ea'. Try this game 'Phonics Frog' and select a phoneme we have been working on this week to consolidate your learning. Have fun!!

6.11.20

It has been lovely to see all of the children back after the half term break with big smiles and stories to tell.

In line with our 'What is Special?' Discover theme, we have been learning about why we celebrate bonfire night and have fireworks. We read about The Gunpowder Plot and sequenced the main events of what happened. Following that, we have been writing our own firework shape poems using words that use the suffix -ing.

We hope the children have been excited about reading at home this week (and for weeks to come) after introducing our class reading raffle! Each time they read at home and an adult has made a comment about what they have read, we will write their name on a ticket to be entered into our class raffle. At the end of the week, a lucky ticket will be drawn from the raffle and that person will choose a small prize. The more times they read, the more chance they will have for their name pulled out.

At the beginning of the academic year, we usually hold a 'Meet the Teacher' session where we explain key things about the coming year ahead. Unfortunately this has not been possible. One of the main things to know about is the Phonics Screening Check. In year 1, phonics is high priority and all children will all sit a Phonics Screening Check in the week commencing Monday 7th June 2021. We have attached some information for you to have a look at and understand what it is and how it will be carried out.

The children will be bringing a homework book home tonight with a short piece of homework to complete linked to some of our current learning in class. The children will have a week to complete the work and we would like this to be handed in by the following Friday. Another piece of work will be added the Friday after that, leaving enough time to quarantine and mark the work that the children have completed. Therefore homework will be coming home in the book fortnightly. We will be rewarding those children who complete their homework by entering their name into the whole school raffle. If the children have independently done some work at home that they would like us to show us, please feel free to stick / write into the homework book as well to keep it all together.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Copy of Phonics Screening Information

23.10.20

This week, most of our work has involved exploring the season of Autumn. Our independent rainbow challenges have focused on using fine motor skills to create Autumnal crafts and pictures. In our outside area we set up a weather station and the children have been using their observational skills to record the temperature and the rainfall each day. We were very excited to measure the rainfall after a whole day of rain on Wednesday! In English we used the skills learnt to create an information page to write one all about Autumn trying to remember that our sentences start with a capital letter and finish with a full stop with finger spaces between our words.

In class we have very nearly got to the end of exploring all of the sounds of phase 3 in phonics. Over the half term holiday please keep looking at these and try to learn what sounds the digraphs/trigraphs make off by heart. You could even see if you could use them in a bit of writing or spot them in words whilst reading.

In maths we have been completing more work on part-part-whole models and using this to begin to explore addition. We discovered that we can create four calculations from three numbers for addition e.g 2+3=5, 3+2=5, 5=2+3 and 5=3+2.

Well done to all of our Geckos for their fantastic participation in the school Harvest Festival assembly and special thanks to Toby and Jessica for saying their individual lines beautifully. You can see our wonderful Orange vegetable paintings in the pictures below.

We wish all our little Gecko's a well earned rest next week for the half term break. You have all been so brilliant settling into year 1 and we are very proud of every single one of you. Happy Half Term!

9.10.20

Well done Gecko Class! You have been amazing this week in class and in your fantastic effort towards raising money for our 'Walk For The Walkways Run For Covers' sponsored event.

In maths we have been ordering numbers and looking at their position on a numberline. In English we been gathering together our learning so far to write an information page on 'Toys Now and Then'. Our rainbow challenges have involved talking about the similarities and differences in families, searching for labels and captions in non-fiction texts and creating beautiful paintings of orange fruit and vegetables to showcase in our virtual harvest festival.

In phonics we have been revisiting the phonemes and graphemes oo, ar and or. Our work has involved both reading and writing words that include these sounds. You could practise more by playing Picnic on Pluto and selecting phase 3. From there select the sounds above to play the game.

Please keep reading at home and learning the sounds and words that your child is working on. We can not stress enough how important it is for your child to read as well as to share a story with you at home. It has huge benefits to not only developing their reading and writing skills but also their communication, social skills and imagination.

Please remember it is individual child photos on Monday 12th of October. The children in Gecko Class should come to school in their uniform. There is no need to bring PE kit into school as Mr Wiskin will change his lesson to accommodate the lack of kit for this day.

2.10.20

Another fantastic week for our little geckos!

Work this week has included comparing numbers in Maths, writing captions in English, distinguishing between an object and a material from which it is made in Science and exploring Hindu Gods in RE. In our phonics lessons we have been reading and writing words which include the phoneme/grapheme ai, ee, igh and oa.

Attached here and also included in your child's reading wallet, we have provided them with a list of spellings that we would like all of the children to practise and learn over the Autumn term. These words are made up from tricky words and the year 1 common exception word list. It is best to tackle learning a couple of words at a time. We will assess how the children are getting on with learning their spellings in the week beginning 14th December before issuing a new list for the Spring term.

25.9.20

This week we have been working on forming long ladder letters. The children have been given a sheet to continue to practise these letters at home. We would be grateful if you could spend some time with your child to practise these ensuring that the letters sit on the line.

As you will have seen, the children are being issued with two reading books each week. One is a colour banded book and the other is a phonics focused book. The phonics book should include the sounds that your child is working hard to learn in order to see how the sound is read within words. Please continue to help your child by reading with them as much as possible. We recommend about 10 minutes each day. Do not be afraid to read the books more than once as repetition is a great way for your child to learn those unfamiliar words and develop fluency in reading. It is also important to talk about the books to ensure that your child understands and comprehends what they have read.

You may see a maths award target pop up in your child's gecko book over the next couple of weeks. Maths awards are given when a child has completed a number of given targets. Please help your child to learn and practise the target given in their gecko book. We will assess their target fortnightly on a Monday in school and issue new targets in order to achieve their coloured maths award!

Please remember to email us a photograph of your child with their special/favourite toy for our caption work next week.

Thank you for all of your support at home.

Mrs Gladen and Mrs King.

lgladen@holytrinityhalstead.com lking@holytrinityhalsteadcom .

Well done Geckos!!

We are so proud of how well all the children are settling into Year 1 and adjusting to the new routines of Gecko Class.

All children should now have a communication book and two reading books. The reading books will be changed once a week on a Tuesday. We would like to remind you to read as often as you can at home and record what you have read in the communication book. Please also remember to practise the sounds on your phonics cards and tricky words regularly. We would like all of these kept in the zippy wallet along with anything else you need to pass to us. The children have the responsibility of giving these wallets in to us in the morning out of their bags.

Can we remind you all to ensure that uniform is labelled as the children often misplace items, particularly jumpers and cardigans.

P.E will continue to be outdoors for the foreseeable future so please ensure that the children come into school in Mondays in their PE kit, warm clothing (joggers and jumpers) will be required as the weather turns.

This term we are thinking about 'What is special'. We will be talking about all the things that are special to us. As part of this we would like the children to email us a photograph of themselves with their favourite toy. Please send the photographs to lgladen@holytrinityhalstead.com lking@holytrinityhalsteadcom . Any questions please feel free to ask.

Hello Gecko Class and welcome to our web page!

This page will be used for information on homework and notices for our class - please keep checking this page and check you are able to access your emails too.

Our PE day is a Monday. Please make sure that on a Monday you wear your P.E kit to school, you will go home wearing it too (you do not need your school uniform that day). You might need a warm dark sweatshirt and jogging bottoms if the weather is chilly. You do need to make sure that earrings are taped up or taken out. We will begin PE on Monday 14th September.

We would like you to practise your phonics and read as much as possible at home (every night if you can!), please write in your Gecko communication book to keep a record of what you have done so we can continue your learning at school. Remember to get an adult to write what pages you have read.

We will check your communication book regularly, however can not promise to check this book daily. If there is anything urgent that you need to speak to us about, please see us at the door.
