Welcome to Alpaca Class Website!

Hello Alpaca Class,

I hope you have had a great summer holiday and enjoyed your 6 week break. I am really looking forward to teaching you this year and getting to know you all!

A couple of things to get you all started and prepared for the year ahead:

  • Our PE day is on Tuesday. In order to support and encourage independence children will be returning to changing for PE in school. As such all children must have a full PE kit which can be kept in school. PE uniform is a Holy Trinity light blue t-shirt and dark coloured shorts. Children are welcome to wear jogging bottoms, please can these be plain navy or black. Please ensure that on Tuesday hair is tied back and earrings removed.

  • Please ensure that all children’s clothing is clearly labelled to avoid them becoming lost.

  • I will be sending home a homework grid in the first couple of weeks of term, this includes a selection of activities that support the work we are doing in class as well as a selection of Holy Trinity Passport activities. I will check homework and award stamps and raffle tickets for all homework complete on a Wednesday.

  • In addition to homework, it will greatly support your children's development if they can read and practice their phonics as much as possible at home. There is an expectation that children read at least 3 times a week at home. Each time a child reads/ practices their phonics I will enter them into the weekly class raffle. Each child that reads a minimum of 3 times a week will also receive a whole school raffle ticket. Each time a child reads they will also contribute to the class reward system.

If you have any questions at any time, please catch me on the door in the mornings or after school, write a note in the children's communication diary or drop me an email to jthomson@holytrinityhalstead.com.

See you all soon,

Mrs Thomson!
