Purpose of the role

The Headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day management and educational leadership of the School. They ensure the delivery of high-quality Greek language and cultural education aligned with the values and mission of the Holy Cross Greek School. The Headteacher supports the School Committee by providing professional insight, fostering collaboration between staff and parents, and ensuring that educational, administrative, and safeguarding  standards are upheld.

Skills and experience required

Essential

• Qualified educator with experience in school settings.

• Demonstrated leadership experience in schools.

• Knowledge of Greek language, culture, and the mission of the Greek Orthodox Church.

• Fluent in Greek and English.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders (staff, parents, Church).

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety legislation and

its application in a school setting.

• Commitment to the mission and values of the Greek Orthodox Church.

Desirable

• Experience in a Greek Supplementary or Community School in the UK

• Familiarity with KEA/EEA guidelines and procedures.

Holy Cross Greek School based in West Hampstead, is seeking experienced & enthusiastic school teachers with experience within the Greek community of education to join our school for the new academic year 2025-2026. The successful candidate/s will need to demonstrate a commitment towards the school’s vision and have the relevant skills, qualifications and experience. Our school operates every Saturday between 9:30am – 1pm.
