What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?
I learned the importance of adhering to robust positive expectancy models and how to mitigate risk effectively. I also developed some essential digital hard skills on Microsoft Excel. Frequently, I used Bloomberg Query Language (BQL) to effectively manage US equity data. Also, I became comfortable working in a professional work environment with members of my team.
How does this experience connect to your future career goals?
I was not only able to get financial exposure, but investment and capital management experience that aligns with many career paths I am interested in. I am now much more comfortable navigating US markets and managing data in Microsoft Excel.
What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?
A piece of advice I would give to Holy Cross students would be to find what you are passionate about and become an expert in that craft. I am very grateful because I am able to wake up every morning and work in a field that I am passionate about. On top of that, I would advise you to network as much as possible. There are plenty of people that are willing to help you as long as you are respectful and hard-working.
