What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?
The biggest skill I developed throughout my internship was my ability to communicate my ideas. This was the
result of continuous marketing as well as meeting with clients who lacked knowledge about their own
financial plan. Being able to assess a person financial situation and communicate with them a simplistic
outline of how and where to allocate their money clearly and effectively has shown dividends when it had
come to client accumulation and retention.
How does this experience connect to your future career goals?
From an early age, I had developed a great interest in using money to make money. For those entering
retirement, the only way to make money is to allocate their money into positions to see safe liquidable growth
on their money they had accumulated in the workforce. Working in finance has always been my goal and
using these tools that I developed on my own to help others has generated even more interest for me in
following this career path.
What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?
For anyone looking to participate in an internship, follow your interest because this will help you find a job
that you love. As I progressed throughout my internship I noticed two things; I was doing what I loved from a
young age and I was using my personal interest to help others live sustainable and happy lives without any
financial worries. Being a Crusader opens doors to allow you to do what you love.
