What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?
My writing, research, and communication skills greatly improved throughout my
internship. I am used to writing in more academic and analytical ways, but this internship
challenged me to write more creatively, in a way that was digestible to a range of people on
social media.
How does this experience connect to your future career goals?
I am very passionate about nutrition and educating people on how to live healthy
lifestyles. One easy way to start that is by cooking healthy meals, which is at the heart of my
internship’s mission. I hope to have a career in healthcare in which I am studying how chronic
diseases are impacted by diet and lifestyle and how, through education, these diseases might
be mitigated.
What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?
It is okay to not have an internship that is technically in the field you are interested in. Be
open to a range of opportunities since the skills you will gain will often be transferable to any
career! Also, you never know what type of other interest that internship could spark for you.
