1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?

• I learned how to carry out professional medical research and various statistical measures in order to correlate and validate data.

• I was able to be a leader, communicate between and collaborate with other interns and supervisors, and develop great relationships.

• I became a better public speaker as I presented findings from our research projects to doctors and head medical figures in the field.

2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?

• I knew I wanted to be in the medical field, but this internship helped me learn that I do not only want to do research, but I want to be an educator as well.

• I took part in medical research from the clinical perspective, but now I know that I want to try to take part in it from the developmental perspective, and this internship helped me establish connections so that I am able to.

3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?

• Network as much as you can. Make a list of names and emails of potential employers and employees that you can reach out to.

• Do not take on more than you can handle. Even if you want to try to impress by handling a massive workload, it is the quality of the work that you produce that makes you stand out.
