1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?

I learned how to better utilize technology as a part of marketing and sales. I gained the ability to effectively communicate my goals with the client over the phone. I learned the value of personability and professionalism in the workspace.

2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?

Throughout the experience, I have learned which aspects of the workspace that I enjoy and others that I do not. Rather than giving me a better understanding of what I want to do for a career, the internship has allowed me to understand what my expectations should be wherever it is that I will be working. These expectations were created through the professionalism and compassion found working for New York Life.

3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?

That they should follow curiosity and desire with passion and compassion. Internships are fruitful if given enough effort and are met with questions.
