1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?
During my internship, I was able to develop a lot of different skills. Some of the skills I developed include: understanding product development, understanding proper research methods (market sizing, customer persona identification, advertising/ marketing strategies), professional powerpoint design, and articulating a complex problem that INDX is trying to solve.
2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?
A goal of mine has always been to start my own company. While I have learned a lot at Holy Cross through HC Launch and the Entrepreneurship course, actually working with a startup has taught me many valuable skills and lessons. Luckily, I was able to try out virtually every role in the company, as the company was small enough to do so. The hands-on experience I got trying to launch a startup directly correlates to my goal of creating a company of my own as I have learned the necessary steps to be successful.
3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?
I would advise other Holy Cross students to ask as many questions as possible. My primary goal for my internship was to learn as much as I possibly could. I quickly realized that my bosses had a lot more patience with my than I anticipated, and I found that it was always better to ask too many questions than not enough questions.
