1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?
Two of the most important skills I learned over the course of the internship were time management and communication. Teddy the Dog (TTD) is a small company so each team really depends on each other. In order to keep the efficient flow of work, i really had to be on top of my own tasks and finish all my work before the deadlines. This also translated to communicating ability. Being able to reach out for help, to ask a question no matter how small, or even propose new ideas everyone at TTD was incredibly helpful.
2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?
This experience gave me direct insight on what it is like to start your own business. Two areas where I found great insight are growing a company from the ground up and remaining profitable.
3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?
I would tell every HC student to keep an open mind for future internships. No matter what it might be in, you will always learn something. And always have a pen and paper, having everything in writing makes your job much easier and your boss will definitely notice.
