1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?
I developed the skills of researching social media marketing strategies, analyzing the target customer of a company, editing/formatting the beta app prototype on the Marvel platform, and creating/formatting an investor pitch deck.
2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?
This experience connects to my future career goals because it taught me the fundamental steps on how to start and run a small business. I hope to run my own business one day, and this internship has aided my understanding on how I should go about starting my own company. It has also given me the opportunity to connect and network with a group of hardworking people who are passionate about being innovative and successful.
3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?
The advice I would give to other students who are involved in working with startups/want to create a startup is to really understand who your target customer is. Delve into what problems they face, and observe what factors your competitors lack that your business may incorporate to help solve your customers’ problem. Lastly, don’t be afraid to network with the connections of your co-workers; ask about people your supervisors/peers may know that line up with your career interests and attempt to pursue connections with them.
