1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?
During the internship, I learned a lot of skills relating to analysis of different startups. Because of the remote environment, communication and time management skills were substantially developed during the internship. I also gained lots of presenting skills as I would often present startups to the partners of the firm as well as present my industry report.
2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?
This experience has been a great way to learn more about professionalism in the workplace as well as the communication skills needed to be in a work environment. These skills will be very valuable for me in any future opportunities and endeavors. In a more specific context, learning about venture capital has always been an interest of mind and now I can decide whether or not I would want to pursue this career further.
3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?
Any type of internship is a great experience and privilege. I’d definitely recommend that anyone in an internship make the most out of it by taking the time to connect with as many people at the firm as you can. In conjunction with that, I’d recommend thinking about how you can continually bring value to the firm rather than settling into a routine.
