1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?
Some of the skills that I further developed in my internship are the ability to communicate in a professional workspace, reach out to businesses that I do not know well, and act as voice for the team when those higher up had other tasks at hand.
2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?
This experience connects to my future career goals in the sense that it challenged me to create relationships with the community around me regardless of my level of knowledge or comfort with the different demographics that I encountered. This is a huge aspect of Community Relations and International Studies because you are faced with a new and unfamiliar environment where it is necessary to adapt; adapting and communication were two very big qualities needed in the office.
3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?
When entering the workforce, whether that is full-time or as an intern, it is necessary to remember that professionalism and hard work are extremely necessary to uphold, regardless of the environment you are placed in. Even if you are given the bare minimum, use your knowledge and skills to go above and beyond.
