1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?

I have most definitely developed/strengthened by Oral/Written Communication skills during the course of this internship, as well as strengthened by Leadership skills. For much of my internship, I was required to take charge and present my own original thoughts at all times. This perfected my ability to be a self-sufficient worker and an amazing creative writer.

2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?

I have always wanted to work in the music industry, so having the opportunity to be a contributing music journalist this summer was a dream come true for me. What I am most looking forward to in my role is to be able to continue writing original content pieces for the site and continue to grow in my writing. I have had the opportunity to write amazing editorial pieces surrounding the current sociopolitical upheaval regarding police brutality in the country, among other topics, and to truly present my own original thoughts.

3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?

To other Holy Cross students, I would recommend working with the Center for Career Development to strengthen your resume. I thought my resume was strong too until I met with them and I think that’s what really made my resume stand out, especially in jobs in the entertainment industry.
