1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?
One skill I developed through this experience was how to effectively communicate and work with a supervisor/ team virtually. Using an online task organizer and weekly Zoom meetings proved to be helpful ways to stay on the same page, even without the ability to meet in-person. Through this internship, I also gained experience working with different programs in Adobe Creative Suite, an important tool for marketing/ creating appealing graphics.
2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?
This experience gave me insight on how a local non-profit works. Non-profit work is very variable, but I feel more confident jumping into the workforce with this experience under my belt, especially since at this point I can definitely see myself continuing non-profit work once I graduate.
3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?
I would say that especially with virtual internship experiences, you will need the ability to go with the flow while also demonstrating enthusiasm and ability to work on your own projects/ offer a hand to other employees. In situations where your duties are not spelled out for you, take advantage of this by speaking up about your interests, abilities, and things you want to learn.
