1) What are some skills/competencies (NACE) that you developed during your internship?

During my internship I definitely improved my writing skills as I composed multiple articles regarding the NHL and news surrounding its plan to restart and the playoffs. With the amount of writing done in college it was definitely helpful for me to write articles and have someone review and edit them so I was able to compare the final product to my original and see what areas I could improve on. Sending emails to companies seeking if they wanted to buy ad space on the newsletter also allowed me to develop my tenacity because I had to continue asking companies if they wanted to form a partnership despite not always getting a yes during these unprecedented times.

2) How does this experience connect to your future career goals?

This experience allowed me to see whether or not I want to pursue a career in marketing, digital design, or writing. Sports are something that I am very passionate about so it wasn’t hard to me to find motivation to put in work.

3) What advice would you give to other Holy Cross students?

This internship was one of the few that doesn’t restrict the intern to just one department. The interns can work in just one department or all of the departments if they really want to. It allows the intern to challenge themselves and see how much work they can juggle at one time, or for them to really focus on one area and become an expert in that field.
