Hello everyone! I am here for any Social Studies support for your 3rd grader! I am a new teacher at Holton, just hired in January, and will now be in charge of the Social Studies assignments for 3rd grade! Most of the kiddos know me, but I know most parents do not! So, a little about me: I just graduated from Washburn University in December. I am super excited to begin my teaching career here in my hometown. I started in Holton in Kindergarten and graduated in 2015. Please feel free to ask any questions through email or during office hours, and I will try my best to answer them!

Ms. Deegan's advice for third graders learning from home:
Stay relaxed and take a deep breath!
Take brain breaks!! Every 10-20 minutes or so do some jumping jacks or touch 4 different walls in the house (something to get up and moving) then sit back down and get back to work. These don’t have to last more than 10-20 seconds. Just something to get refocused!
Know that this is all new for everyone, and if you do your best, you’ll be successful!! We can get through this!
Here are a few links to resources online a third grade student might find helpful.

Scholastic.com - If you want to read up on some other social studies topics.
Google Earth - Great for exploring our community, and other areas of the world!
Holtonkansas.org - may be helpful for researching some aspects of our community.
