Welcome to the Miller and Placentino school art website. I am Mrs. Popek and teach grades k-5 in Holliston. I have been teaching for many years and have spent the past 14 here at the Miller School. I received my Bachelors from Anna Maria College in art education and my Masters from Lesley University in Creative arts in learning. It is my goal that the Miller and Placentino students have an exciting experience learning and experimenting with supplies and developing skills.
In my personal life, I am married and have been for 34 years. I have three grown children, two of which are married. I have two cats and in the summer a large garden of flowers and vegetables. I love to garden and grow all varieties of plants. I have a pottery wheel and spend time creating art from clay. Some of my other hobbies include fishing, biking, photography and spending time outdoors enjoying nature. I am an avid reader and love getting suggestions from others for good books.
Hello, My name is Anne Blackington, I also teach art for grades K-5. I have taught in the Holliston Schools for over 20 years. I have a bachelor's degree in the Fine Arts from UMass Dartmouth, and a Masters in Creative Art and Learning from Lesley University in Cambridge. I feel strongly that all students are creative and my class is a safe place to learn and create. I enjoy planning and creating lessons with Mrs. Popek that reach all students. Our aprons of choice say “Art Matters” and we enjoy sharing the world of art with all students.
